Swimming & Beaches
Kenora and the surrounding area offer several beautiful public beaches:
- Anicinabe Park — Take Miikana Way off Highway 17E. Beach, washrooms, change rooms, showers, playground, BBQ pit and shelter. Public boat launch with parking.
- Garrow Park — On Rabbit Lake at the end of Birchwood Crescent. Beach with docks, playground, washrooms, change rooms, picnic area and tennis courts.
- Keewatin Beach — Off Keewatin Beach Road on Lake of the Woods. Restrooms, change rooms, picnic area, docks and playground. Wheelchair and stroller accessible.
- Norman Park — On Lake of the Woods off Lakeview Drive (Hwy 17W). Sandy beach, children's playground, splash park, restrooms and picnic shelter.
- Coney Island — Accessible by boat only. Playground, concession stand, public docks, large grassy area and picnic shelter.
Paddleboarding & Kayaking
We have kayaks and paddleboards for rent on-site. Launch directly from our docks and explore the many small islands of Lake of the Woods.
Hiking
Rushing River Provincial Park is minutes from Redden's Camp and offers trails for all skill levels. Kenora also has nature trails within city limits. Park info: 807-548-4351 (May–Sep) or 807-468-2669 (Oct–Apr).
Wildlife Watching
The Longbow Lake area is home to extraordinary wildlife. Lake of the Woods is recognized as a bird watcher's paradise — almost 300 species of birds nest here and can be seen in any season of the year.
Golf
Kenora has two 18-hole golf courses: Kenora Golf and Country Club (par 72) and Beauty Bay Golf Course (par 71). Both are just a short drive from Redden's.
Lake Tours
The M.S. Kenora offers day cruises around Lake of the Woods, sailing three times daily (twice on Sundays). Native Cultural Tours also available.
Local Parks & Attractions
- McLeod Park — Features "Husky the Muskie," a 40-foot fish replica, rock gardens, a lookout and the Kenora Rotary Goodwill Geyser (shoots 200 feet every hour, 8am–11pm in summer).
- The Harbourfront — Parallel to Main Street. The Thistle Pavilion houses the Tourist Information Centre. Major summer events take place under the Tent.
- Beatty Park — 10th Street in Keewatin. Picnic area, bandstand, floral gardens and nearby boat launch.
- Jaffray Melick Lookout Point — Rabbit Lake Road. Gazebo with shrub and floral gardens.
